From J.B. Morgan, author of Holly Lane

"I'm so glad I found Kyla. After searching high and low for an editor for my debut novel, I came across Kyla's website. I knew I had to work with her as soon as I saw her name. I loved it, and laughed over the name of her company, Missed Period. I thought it was clever, and knew this was the gal to go with. I know I did not go wrong.

I was able to trust my manuscript in Kyla's hands, even though I was scared and hesitant to hit 'send' on my email the first time I sent her anything. For me, it felt like I was sending my firstborn off to school, but Kyla put me right at ease. She's dependable, easy to get along with, and awesome to work with. She's personable, encouraging, uplifting, has great ideas, and made my male character, according to my beta reader, "swoonier" than he already was.

Kyla is what I like to call, 'Quick on the Draw.' She is prompt and often, more times than not, even early. She has a fast turnaround time, leaves helpful notes on what she liked or suggestions to make the story flow better, is quick to reply to emails, and was very accommodating. She's great at maintaining the integrity of the storyline and characters during the editing process.

I look forward to working with Kyla in the future."

"Trepidation, anxiety, uncertainty. These are all the feelings I felt looking at the first draft of my latest novel, Scared of Forever. I would like to express my sincerest thanks to Kyla of Missed Period Editing for Indies for her work on the novel. Having discovered Kyla when I was searching for an editor for my first novel, and having used her services for every subsequent one, I can say with complete confidence that I have found an editor for as long as she’ll have me.

Kyla is not only an exceptional editor in terms of grammar, spelling, and punctuation, but also in improving the  flow of the manuscript and correcting awkward and verbose sentences. In terms of professionalism, she always completes the job in a timely manner, and is always prompt to respond to queries.

For me, as a new author, Kyla truly comes into her own when it comes to support. She corrects and comments in a manner which is helpful to me in terms of my own growth, i.e. suggestions regarding  voice, commenting on my writing style with suggestions for
improvement, or words of encouragement.

My manuscripts are very grateful for the day I sent my first email inquiry to Missed Period Editing for Indies. It goes without saying that she is my first choice for manuscript editing, and as such, comes highly recommended."

"I guess doing anything for the first time is a crapshoot. Picking the cover, finding a good editor, and hell, even writing the manuscript and finding your target audience. Scouring the web for days and weeks, in between writing passages of prose, became a daily thing before finding Missed Period Editing. As many--I'm sure--know, editing is an expensive, albeit important, part of creating a story. So when I found the affordable price that Kyla offers, I wanted to jump on that ship before it sailed.

Setting my session up nearly five months in advance, I wanted to make sure that Kyla would have the time to work with my manuscript. And while at first many days of hesitancy shook me to the core (mind you I made my own friends sign contracts as beta readers so they couldn't 'take' my manuscript), I didn't let this sense of anxiety play on me for too long. Handing over, hitting send, and praying that it wasn't taken was my first week of waiting for my first part back. But Kyla set me at ease. sending me my first part, and loads of editing to go through and finish up.

Kyla takes your first chapter, or for me the first part of what my book was, and she will edit it for free. Make comments, clear things up, and show you the level of skill that she has to work with. I was more than surprised! My past experience with people and lower prices normally mean a drop in quality of the product. But this wasn't the case. And I was very, VERY pleased with this purchase.

To my relief, and not surprise, she had not only made the time that she had promised, but had gotten the manuscript to me early.

Her voice mimicking is spot on, as she catches grammar flaws while adding and subtracting words that flow with your own inner author. I've had no problems with looking at her revisions and thinking that they were just not me.

Kyla is someone you want to go to if you not only want an editor, but you also want someone who will look after your manuscript and answer questions as they come up. She is kind, friendly, and straightforward with her answers, while making sure you blossom from the experience. Not only is Kyla worth the money that she asks for, you'll find that she is rather addictive. Once one manuscript is polished by her hands, you can't quite help but throw more in her direction.

10/10 I would have her edit again.
